Read for a Lifetime, a program sponsored by the Illinois State Library, targets high school students. Congratulations 2016 Qualifiers!

There were 36 qualifiers honored at this year’s Read for a Lifetime Breakfast who read at least 4 books from the list.  Of those, 4 seniors joined the 100 Book Club (Lindsey Bideaux, Alaine Brucher, Ryan Gans, and Sierra Sommer), 8 seniors were 4-year qualifiers, and 12 students read all 25 books on this year’s list.  Outstanding work!

You can get a copy of the 2016-17 Read for a Lifetime list in the library.  New books are ready in the RFL bookcase.  You can also access many of these books through FollettShelf on your own devices all summer long.  Feel free to start your responses now.

Don’t forget that all students who just like to read and talk about books are invited to be part of the Student Library Advisory Panel.  We meet in the library at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings to preview our newest books and plan book-related activities.
