I liked this book. I really enjoyed how it showed each charachters reasons for acting why they did, unraveling a deeper pattern and motivation and revealing how the times changed as each generation grew. I thought it was a very touching story. I would reccomend this book.
The sequencing of this was incredible. I saw how each father wanted his son to be like him, but they all had a different sense of identity. I love Thor, he’s just a silly little guy. But it was striking how all of the pieces stitched up together, it was a symphony in itself.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I liked when Lolo Emil gave Enzo Thor because Enzo said he wanted a dog. I think it’s interesting that the view on retaining culture alternated with each generation. I thought it was ironic when Lolo emil called Enzo not a real name when that was his “uncle’s” name.
