“Invention Creation”

We were very creative inventors today!

After reading Time For Kids – “Coolest Inventions of 2013” – we put our creativity to work and made up our own inventions. We had everything from a “Poop Vac” to screaming fast Jet Airliners to Space vacation homes! The creativity of children always amazes me!

Hello!

With 2 unforeseen snow days at the beginning of the week we missed starting “chapter 6 on January 6th” but as you’ve probably noticed we are in full swing now! We will be working with fractions for 3 consecutive chapters over the course of the next several weeks. In upcoming chapters students will be adding/subtracting unlike, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
Please continue to practice previously learned concepts like multiplying/dividing decimals to keep the kiddos fresh for upcoming ISAT and Discovery testing.
Also, if your child seems to be struggling at home with independent work please send them in to my classroom either in the morning before school or at lunch recess for additional practice/help opportunities. I get here at 7:30 and am always willing to provide extra assistance.
Look for your child’s report card to come home tomorrow afternoon and please don’t forget to send back the brown envelope at your earliest convenience.
Here’s to an abundantly productive 3rd quarter!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gentry
